LA ART SHOW: MODERN + CONTEMPORARY
Los Angeles has emerged as a global epicenter of art & culture, with a distinct, interwoven multi-cultural influence unique to the city, claimed the “Creative Capitol of the history of the World,” by the office of its Mayor (ArtsDayLA statement, 2016).
Diversity is our strength and art is most impactful when it includes or transcends all borders.
The Most Comprehensive International Contemporary Art Show in America
As LA rises as the world-class destination for art, the LA Art Show continues to lead the way with innovative programming and one-of-a-kind experiences for an expanding collecting audience. LA Art Show is the unparalleled international art experience with over 120 galleries from more than 20 countries exhibiting painting, sculpture, works on paper, installation, photography, fashion, design, video and performance. All works presented by galleries are available for your purchasing pleasure.
More than 200,000 square feet of exhibition space is committed to today’s prominent galleries. These domestic and international galleries, beyond their booths, curate special exhibits that are at the forefront of the burgeoning contemporary art movement. The fair offers an extraordinary array of works and experiences in specialized sections.
Click the image for an expansive list of DIVERSEartLA programming.
DIVERSEARTLA
Capitalizing on the city’s position on the Pacific Rim, DIVERSEartLA is a special programming section devoted to nurturing the creative energy of international collectors, artists, curators, museums and non-profits by connecting them directly with audiences in Los Angeles. The LA Art Show donates 50,000 square feet of exhibition space to participating organizations each year as our civic engagement, and the featured work is not for sale. Overall curation by Marisa Caichiolo with individual curators from institutions around the world.
MODERN + CONTEMPORARY
The largest section of programming at the LA Art Show, Modern + Contemporary exhibits the vast spectrum of contemporary painting, illustration, sculpture and more from galleries in Los Angeles, the Pacific Rim, and over 18 countries around the world.
FEATURED EXHIBITIONS
Expanding beyond the confines of booth spaces, Featured Exhibitions create immersive experiences to engage audiences through thought-provoking artworks, performances and other exhibitions offered by participating galleries, highlighting works that will be talked about for years to come.
EUROPEAN PAVILION
For the first time in our history, we featured a new pavilion dedicated to European galleries in 2020. The all-new European Pavilion showcased curated exhibits highlighting various movements and stylistic developments.
ROOTS
Honoring the voices and movements that came before, ROOTS is a dedicated exhibition space for galleries that showcase historical works and contemporary artists following in those traditions.
INK
Ink is as synonymous with painting in the East as oil is with painting in the West. From traditional and historical, to contemporary, to avant-garde, seven galleries offer us an opportunity to appreciate the rich spectrum of ink painting styles.
DIALOGSLA
Beginning in 2016, Dialogs LA is an ongoing slate of talks and panels discussions led by esteemed international curators, artists, designers, collectors, and art influencers to stimulate conversations on relevant trends and issues affecting the contemporary art world.
PROJECT SPACE
Hailing from around the world, the exhibitors in Project Space showcase a broad array of ideas and talents in the form of solo exhibitions, presented by participating galleries.
WORKS ON PAPER
Works on Paper is a dedicated exhibition space for showcasing photographs and other works not on traditional canvas.

VIP OPENING FOR A CAUSE.
We remain inspired by the work of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® and are honored to once again partner with them as our benefiting charity in 2020. A portion of ticket proceeds from our Opening Night Premiere supported the lifesaving mission of St. Jude: Finding cures. Saving children.®
Funds raised on Opening Night help ensure that no family ever receives a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing, and food. Our partnership with St. Jude and the show’s Opening Night has spanned the last 7 years, and in 2020 we raised nearly $80,000 together.
The LA Art Show was proud to have the support of Sofia Vergara as our Official Host for this year’s Opening Night Premiere, extending the tradition of prominent entertainment industry icons supporting St. Jude and the LA Art Show.
